CRANBERRY SQUARES
Real quick and easy to make! I got this recipe from an acquaintance at a boardgame night. The original recipe called for walnuts, but I think pecans are a more complementary flavor. These cranberry bars are delicious, with a delightful balance of sweet and tart. Don't count on leftovers - these moist squares get gobbled right up!

CRANBERRY SQUARES
I had this at a friend. party and loved it. Not a huge fan of cranberries; but fresh cranberries with the almond extract could almost be mistaken for cherries. I made it several times through the Holidays and it was a huge hit. GREAT for breakfast or tea.any time of the year. Buy fresh cranberries when in season and freeze for cooking throughout the year.

Tips:
- Mise en place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and tools ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better your cranberry butterscotch squares will be. Look for fresh cranberries that are plump and bright red, and use unsalted butter for the best flavor.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the squares tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the squares until they are set: The squares are done baking when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Don't overbake them, or they will be dry.
- Let the squares cool completely before cutting them: This will help them hold their shape better.
Conclusion:
Cranberry butterscotch squares are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. With their sweet and tart flavor, these squares are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a festive and delicious dessert, give these cranberry butterscotch squares a try. You won't be disappointed!
