Yield 20

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 lb phyllo dough
3/4 c butter; melted(up to 1)
1 cn (16-oz) whole berry-cranberry sauce
8 oz brie cheese; cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Cut phyllo dough in half lengthwise. Keep half covered with plastic wrap while working. Place 2 sheets of phyllo dough on work surface; brush with butter. Fold in half lengthwise; brush with butter. Place 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cranberry sauce and 6 cubes Brie at the bottom of strip. Diagonally fold corner over filling, forming a triangle. Continue folding triangle shape up to the end. Brush with butter and place on a jelly-roll pan. Repeat with remaining phyllo dough and filling. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • Prep the Brie: Before assembling the triangles, ensure the brie is cold and firm. This will make it easier to cut and prevent it from melting too quickly during baking.
  • Thaw the Phyllo Dough Properly: Allow the phyllo dough to thaw completely in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before using. This will make it pliable and easier to work with.
  • Brush with Butter Liberally: Generously brush each layer of phyllo dough with melted butter. This helps create a crispy, flaky texture and prevents the dough from drying out during baking.
  • Layer the Filling Evenly: Distribute the cranberry sauce and chopped nuts evenly over the brie before wrapping it in phyllo dough. This ensures each triangle has a balanced flavor profile.
  • Bake Until Golden: Bake the triangles until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them during baking to prevent overcooking.

Conclusion:

Cranberry Brie Phyllo Triangles are a delightful and versatile appetizer perfect for various occasions. They combine the creamy richness of brie, the tangy sweetness of cranberries, and the crispy crunch of phyllo dough.
