Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 lbs cubed round steaks, cut into thin strips
all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, sliced
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced

Add the onion slices and mushrooms to the pan drippings. Saute for a few minutes, until the onion is tender. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon flour. Put the steak back into the pan with the onion and mushrooms. Add the mushroom soup and beef broth. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, covered. Adjust seasoning to taste, adding salt and pepper, as needed. Stir in the sour cream the last few minutes, right before you serve. Serve over cooked noodles.

Tips:

  • Choose the right steak: A good steak for this recipe is one that is at least 1 inch thick and has a good amount of marbling. This will ensure that the steak is juicy and flavorful.
  • Don't overcook the steak: The key to a perfect steak is to cook it to the desired doneness without overcooking it. Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the steak is cooked to your liking.

  • Make sure the sauce is thick enough: The sauce should be thick enough to coat the steak, but not so thick that it is difficult to pour. If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of water or broth to thin it out.

  • Don't be afraid to experiment: This recipe is a great starting point, but you can feel free to experiment with different ingredients to create your own unique cranberry steak sauce. For example, you could add a teaspoon of brown sugar for a sweeter sauce, or a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy sauce.

Conclusion:

This cranberry steak sauce is a delicious and easy way to add flavor to your steak. It is perfect for a special occasion dinner, or for a weeknight meal. Serve it with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.
