Tips:
- Choose the right turkey: For pulled turkey, use a bone-in turkey breast or thigh. Bone-in meat is more flavorful than boneless, and the bones help to keep the meat moist during cooking.
- Brine the turkey: Brining the turkey in a mixture of water, salt, and spices helps to add flavor and moisture to the meat. Brine the turkey for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight.
- Cook the turkey low and slow: Pulled turkey is best cooked low and slow. This allows the meat to become tender and fall apart easily. Cook the turkey at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Use a flavorful BBQ sauce: The BBQ sauce is what gives pulled turkey its classic flavor. Choose a BBQ sauce that you enjoy the taste of, and that is thick enough to coat the turkey. If you don't have a favorite BBQ sauce, try making your own.
- Serve the pulled turkey on a bun or roll: Pulled turkey is traditionally served on a bun or roll. You can also serve it on a bed of rice, or in a quesadilla or taco.
Conclusion:
Cran-apple BBQ pulled turkey sandwiches are a delicious and easy way to enjoy turkey. The combination of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, tender turkey, and crisp coleslaw is sure to please everyone. Whether you're tailgating, having a picnic, or just enjoying a backyard barbecue, these sandwiches are sure to be a hit.
