- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil.
- Place the crackers on the foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer, so they overlap like shingles. Melt the butter with brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, bring to a boil, and boil for 3 minutes. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes; remove from oven, and sprinkle crackers with chocolate chips.
- Let stand about 2 minutes, until the chips are melted, and spread them over the crackers with a spreader or kitchen knife. Sprinkle with nuts, if desired. Allow to cool completely, about 1 hour; break into chunks, and store in airtight sealed container.

Then drizzle hot butter sugar mixture over crackers. Bake for 15 minutes. Take out of oven and let cool on counter for 5 minutes. Then put in refrigerator until completely cool. Break into strips. Enjoy!
CHOCOLATE ALMOND CRACKER BRITTLE
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring the butter and Splenda to a gentle boil. Allow mixture to simmer for 3 minutes, stirring often. While mixture is simmering, place a single layer of crackers on a 9" by 13" baking pan. Pour hot syrup mixture over crackers. Bake until bubbles appear over the surface of the crackers. This should only be about 3 minutes. Remove pan from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over entire surface. As they soften spread them evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle almonds over top. When cooled break apart to enjoy.
Tips:
- Choose the right crackers. Use a sturdy cracker that can hold up to the brittle-making process. Some good options include Ritz crackers, saltine crackers, or graham crackers.
- Don't overcrowd the pan. When you're melting the sugar and butter, make sure to spread it out in an even layer. If you crowd the pan, the sugar will not melt evenly and the brittle will be too thick.
- Cook the sugar mixture until it reaches the right temperature. The sugar mixture should be cooked to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. This will ensure that the brittle is hard and crunchy.
- Work quickly. Once the sugar mixture is cooked, you need to work quickly to spread it out on the crackers. If you wait too long, the mixture will start to harden and will be difficult to spread.
- Let the brittle cool completely. Before you break the brittle into pieces, let it cool completely. This will help to prevent the brittle from breaking into too small of pieces.
Conclusion:
Cracker brittle is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for parties or potlucks. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and crunchy snack that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give cracker brittle a try!
