CRACKER BARREL'S CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE

Cracker Barrel's Chocolate Pecan Pie image

My favorite part of Pecan Pie is the top. I have never been a fan of the middle, but I eat it. Anything from the Coca Cola Cake to the Peach Cobbler is fantastic at the Cracker Barrel. Adding the chocolate to this pie, well it has to be good.

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 eggs
1/2 c sugar
1 c corn syrup, light
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c melted butter
1 c pecans, halved
3 Tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 plain pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350F. In medium sized bowl, beat together eggs, then add sugar, mix well. Mix in corn syrup, salt, vanilla and butter. Place pecans and chocolate chips in pie shell, pour in mixture. Pecans will rise to the top when baking. Bake for 50-60 min.

Tips:

  • Use a 9-inch pie plate for the best results. A larger or smaller pie plate will affect the cooking time and the consistency of the pie.
  • When making the pie crust, be sure to use cold butter and ice water. This will help to keep the crust flaky and prevent it from becoming tough.
  • If you don't have time to make your own pie crust, you can use a store-bought one. Just be sure to pre-bake it according to the package directions.
  • When adding the chocolate chips and pecans to the pie filling, be sure to stir them in gently. Over-mixing can cause the chocolate chips to melt and the pecans to break.
  • Bake the pie until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. The pie should take about 45-50 minutes to bake.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will help the filling to set and firm up.

Conclusion:

This chocolate pecan pie is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. You can gift this pie to your friends and family. With a rich chocolate filling and a flaky pie crust, this pie is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
