CRAB SUPREME

Lots of crab lover's in our family and we always enjoy this recipe of Aunt Alice's.

Provided by Dorene Fishkin

Categories     Seafood

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 c backfin crab meat
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp flour
1 c chicken broth
1/2 c cream
1/2 c sliced onions
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
4 oz sliced mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in large saucepan. Add flour and chicken broth to make sauce. Add cream. Stir well over low heat until smooth.
  • 2. Add cheese. Stir until cheese melts. Add mushrooms, seasonings, onions and crab and simmer over low heat.
  • 3. Serve over rice and Enjoy !!

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat: Fresh crab meat has a sweeter and more delicate flavor than canned or frozen crab meat. If you can't find fresh crab meat, you can use canned or frozen crab meat, but be sure to thaw it completely before using.
  • Don't overcook the crab: Crab meat is very delicate and can easily be overcooked. Cook the crab just until it is opaque and tender, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This recipe is a great way to use up leftover vegetables. You can use any type of vegetables you like, such as broccoli, carrots, celery, or peas.
  • Make sure the sauce is thick enough: The sauce should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. If the sauce is too thin, add a little cornstarch or flour to thicken it.
  • Serve immediately: Crab Supreme is best served immediately, while the crab meat is still hot and tender.

Conclusion:

Crab Supreme is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover crab meat and vegetables, and it is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. With its creamy sauce, tender crab meat, and flavorful vegetables, Crab Supreme is a dish that you will want to make again and again.
