CRAB AND SHRIMP AU GRATIN DIP

Crab and Shrimp Au Gratin Dip image

I love this served as a dip with toasted bread rounds or as my mother's generation would say "toast points". Or, serve for lunch, brunch, or dinner with a simple green salad and hot French bread. Cheesy, warm and a bit spicy! Serve with a sparkling wine for a really good time.

CROCK POT SHRIMP AND ARTICHOKE DIP OR CRAB AND ARTICHOKE DIP

Crock Pot Shrimp and Artichoke Dip or Crab and Artichoke Dip image

This is so perfect for entertaining or to serve on Game Day. This dip stays soft and warm the whole time, doesn't get cold and solidified like many other artichoke dips I have made. You can make either the shrimp version or the crab version, or even substitute clams if you prefer. Also, I have added a small can of drained water chestnuts on occasion. ** Also, I use my small slow cooker for this recipe and just leave it on all day - think it's a 2 quart cooker ** One more note - one of my girlfriends loved this so much that she made the recipe as is and served it over linguini for Sunday Pasta.

SHRIMP AND CRAB DIP

Shrimp and Crab Dip image

We had some real bad weather on the coast a few weeks ago and I had lots of leftover seafood in the fridge. I threw the ingredients together in a baking dish and it turned out to be a hit. I've made it three times since then and can't stop eating it. The measurements are not exact as I just sort of toss whatever's on hand and...

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pkg cream cheese, cut in cubes
1 c crabmeat, fresh (chopped)
1-2 c cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped
2 green onions or scallions, chopped fine
1/4 sweet onion, chopped fine
1/2 bell pepper (any color) chopped fine
1/2 tomato, seeded and chopped in small pieces
1 dash(es) old bay seasoning
1 clove garlic, chopped fine or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 dash(es) worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Mix all ingredients together in casserole dish and cover. Bake 20-30 minutes until cream cheese is melted and stir.
  • 3. Top with a handful of shredded cheese (I used sharp cheddar). Bake until cheese is melted or broil til golden brown. Serve with nacho chips.

Tips:

  • Use fresh seafood. The fresher the seafood, the better the dip will taste. If you can, buy live crab and shrimp and cook them yourself.
  • Don't overcook the seafood. Overcooked seafood is tough and chewy. Cook the crab and shrimp just until they are opaque and cooked through.
  • Use a good quality cream cheese. The cream cheese is the base of the dip, so it's important to use a good quality brand. Look for a cream cheese that is smooth and spreadable.
  • Add some flavorings. To add some extra flavor to the dip, you can add some chopped green onions, garlic powder, or Old Bay seasoning.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite crackers or chips. Crab and shrimp dip is a great appetizer or snack. Serve it with your favorite crackers or chips and enjoy!

Conclusion:

Crab and shrimp dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. It's perfect for parties or get-togethers. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a dip that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give crab and shrimp dip a try.
