CREAMY CHEESY CRAB SALAD

Categories     Crab

Time 15m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup chopped crabmeat
1/4 cup chopped green onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
1/4 cup plain yogurt or 1/4 cup nonfat sour cream
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
lettuce leaf
1 medium tomatoes, cut into wedges

Steps:

  • In small bowl, combine the crabmeat, onions, celery, garlic powder, pepper, cottage cheese, yogurt and mustard.
  • Mix well.
  • Place washed and drained lettuce leaves on 2 chilled salad plates.
  • Spoon crab mixture onto lettuce and garnish with tomato wedges.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh, high-quality crab meat. Avoid using canned or frozen crab meat, as it will not have the same taste and texture.
  • If you are using frozen crab meat, thaw it completely before using. To thaw frozen crab meat, place it in a colander in the sink and run cold water over it until it is thawed.
  • Be sure to drain the crab meat well before using. If the crab meat is too wet, it will make the salad watery.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in your salad. This will add color, flavor, and nutrients to the dish.
  • Do not overcook the vegetables. Overcooked vegetables will be mushy and will not have a good flavor.
  • Be careful not to overmix the salad. Overmixing will break up the crab meat and make the salad mushy.
  • Serve the salad immediately after making it. Cottage cheese crab salad is best when served fresh.

Conclusion:

Cottage cheese crab salad is a delicious and refreshing dish that is perfect for a summer lunch or dinner. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and healthy meal that the whole family will enjoy.
