What a tasty combination--honey and cornmeal. It makes wonderful toast in the morning and great sandwiches. I have made this for many years and it always rises perfectly into nice, round loaves. It is easy to make and not too many ingredients.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cornmeal: Fine cornmeal will give you a smoother bread, while coarse cornmeal will give you a more rustic bread. You can also use a combination of the two.
  • Use warm water: Warm water helps to activate the yeast and get the bread rising.
  • Knead the dough well: Kneading the dough helps to develop the gluten, which gives the bread its structure.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place: The dough needs to rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Bake the bread at a high temperature: Baking the bread at a high temperature helps to create a crispy crust.

Conclusion:

Cornmeal yeast bread is a delicious and easy-to-make bread that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a great way to use up leftover cornmeal, and it is also a healthier alternative to white bread.
