Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 lb ground beef
1 c chopped onion
2 clove garlic, or 1/2 teaspoon
2 dash(es) tobasco sauce
1 tsp cumin
1/8 tsp pepper
2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp butter
1 can(s) tomatoe sauce (8oz)
1 can(s) tomatoe paste (6oz)
3 can(s) water (60z)
1-3 tsp chili powder
1 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 c precooked rice
fritos corn chips

Steps:

  • 1. Saute ground beef, onion, and garlic in butter until brown. Mix in all remaining ingredients except corn chips, and simmer for 30 minutes uncovered. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking. Cover and remove from heat, and let stand for 5 minutes.
  • 2. Serve meat mixture over corn chips. Top with grated cheese, chopped onions, tomatoes, olives and sour cream, or whatever you think sounds good.

Tips:

  • Choose the right corn chips: Use sturdy corn chips that won't break easily when folded or filled. Thicker chips, such as tostada shells, are a good option.
  • Warm the corn chips: Warming the corn chips before filling them will make them more pliable and less likely to crack.
  • Use a variety of fillings: Get creative with your fillings! You can use anything from classic taco fillings like ground beef, lettuce, and tomatoes to more unique options like grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, or black beans.
  • Don't overfill the tacos: Corn chip tacos are small, so don't overload them with fillings. Otherwise, they'll be difficult to eat.
  • Serve immediately: Corn chip tacos are best enjoyed fresh. If you're making them ahead of time, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Conclusion:

Corn chip tacos are a fun and easy way to enjoy your favorite Mexican flavors. They're perfect for parties, potlucks, or a quick and easy weeknight meal. With a little creativity, you can create endless variations of corn chip tacos that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy meal, give corn chip tacos a try!
