Tips:

  • Use fresh sweet corn: Fresh corn on the cob is best for this recipe, but frozen corn can also be used in a pinch. If using frozen corn, thaw it completely before using.
  • Don't overcook the corn: The corn should be cooked until it is tender, but not mushy. Overcooked corn will make the casserole mushy and bland.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is one of the main ingredients in this recipe, so it's important to use a good quality cheese that melts well. Cheddar cheese is a classic choice, but you can also use Monterey Jack, Swiss cheese, or a blend of cheeses.
  • Add some spice: If you like a little bit of spice, you can add some diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the casserole. This will give it a nice kick.
  • Serve it hot: Corn casserole is best served hot and fresh out of the oven. It can be reheated, but it's not as good as when it's first made.

Conclusion:

Corn casserole is a classic Southern side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make, delicious, and always a crowd-pleaser.
