Tips:

  • Choose the right cornbread. For the best results, use a moist, slightly sweet cornbread that is not too dense. A Jiffy cornbread mix or a homemade cornbread recipe with buttermilk or sour cream will work well.
  • Cook the pork thoroughly. Ground pork should be cooked until it is no longer pink in the center. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Don't overcook the casserole. The casserole is done when the pork is cooked through and the cornbread topping is golden brown. Overcooking will dry out the casserole.
  • Serve the casserole hot. Cornbread pork casserole is best served hot out of the oven. It can be served with a side of gravy, mashed potatoes, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Cornbread pork casserole is a hearty and delicious dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With a few simple tips, you can make a cornbread pork casserole that is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
