  • Marinate the flank steak: Marinating the flank steak for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight, is essential for infusing flavor and moisture into the meat. The marinade should contain acidic ingredients like citrus juice or vinegar to help tenderize the steak further.
  • Use a high-heat cooking method: Flank steak is best cooked quickly over high heat to maintain its tenderness and prevent it from becoming tough. Grilling, searing, or pan-frying are suitable cooking methods for achieving a flavorful and juicy steak.
  • Cook the steak to the desired doneness: The ideal internal temperature for a flank steak depends on your preference. For a rare steak, aim for an internal temperature of 125°F (52°C), for a medium-rare steak, aim for 135°F (57°C), and for a medium steak, aim for 145°F (63°C).
  • Rest the steak before slicing: Once cooked, allow the steak to rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
