In our house, we love pizza and pretzel bread! When Little Caesar's came out with their pretzel crust pizza, we fell in love but also knew it was unrealistic to be buying it all the time. The next best thing was to make it ourselves, and it came out even better than the restaurant's version! This thick-crusted copycat pizza is bound to blow your socks off! Hope you enjoy! -Mary Lou Timpson, Centennial Park, Arizona

COPYCAT LITTLE CAESARS BREADSTICKS

Copycat Little Caesars Breadsticks image

My husband loves the breadsticks from Little Caesar's and they do not have a restaurant near us anymore. So, I experimented and came up with this recipe. All I have to say is that he is the pickiest person in the world to please and he spared only three for my kids and I! My suggestion is that you use the pre-grated Parmesan cheese, they taste more authentic that way.

Time 16m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (10 5/8 g) box of refrigerated italian style breadsticks with garlic sauce
3 teaspoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Open box of breadsticks; discard garlic sauce.
  • Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
  • Unroll breadsticks across pre-made perforation so that you have 2 even sets of 5 breadsticks.
  • Place both sets of breadsticks flat on cookie sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the top turns a light golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Add the garlic powder and stir until dissolved.
  • You might want a little more or a little less garlic, depending on your tastes.
  • Remove breadsticks from oven.
  • With a spoon, coat the breadsticks with the garlic-butter mixture.
  • Use as much, or as little, as you like for your preference.
  • I used the entire mixture.
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the breadsticks as desired.

Tips:

  • Ensure accurate measurements: Using a kitchen scale for precise measurements of ingredients is highly recommended.
  • Activate the yeast properly: Before using, ensure the yeast is active by dissolving it in warm water with a little sugar and letting it foam for a few minutes.
  • Knead the dough thoroughly: Kneading the dough for an adequate amount of time helps develop gluten, resulting in a smooth and elastic dough.
  • Proof the dough in a warm place: Choose a warm spot, such as a turned-off oven with a light on, to allow the dough to rise properly.
  • Shape the breadsticks evenly: To achieve consistent results, use a ruler or measuring tape to ensure uniform shaping of the breadsticks.
  • Brush with melted butter: Before baking, brush the breadsticks with melted butter to add a golden-brown color and enhance flavor.
  • Bake at a high temperature: Baking the breadsticks at a high temperature helps create a crispy exterior while maintaining a soft and fluffy interior.

Conclusion:

Recreating the beloved Little Caesars breadsticks at home is not only possible but also highly rewarding. With careful attention to ingredient selection, precise measurements, and proper techniques, you can achieve that irresistible combination of crispy crust and soft, flavorful bread. Experiment with different toppings and seasonings to personalize your breadsticks and elevate your homemade pizza or pasta night to the next level. So grab your apron, gather your ingredients, and embark on a culinary journey to savor the delightful taste of Little Caesars breadsticks in the comfort of your own kitchen.
