Steps:
- MICROWAVE - Put a layer of kitchen paper on a microwave proof plate and top with the bacon slices and place another layer of kitchen paper on top and cook in microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
- FRYPAN - Place bacon in a cold frying pan and turn the heat on and cook until crisp (by placing in a cold pan ensures that the fat renders out while the pan is warming, therefore there is no need for oil). Season with salt and pepper if desired.
EASY MICROWAVE BACON
Disclaimer: Based on a review, I DO NOT recommend using a paper plate. This is a quick and easy way to get nice crispy/chewy bacon in the microwave. I've been making it this way for years, and thought I would share. This method sure beats the spattered grease mess all over the stove top from pan frying, or having to use the oven in the hot summertime. Enjoy! NOTE: Cooking times will vary according to your microwave, the type of bacon, and your desired level of crispness/ chewiness, so feel free to adjust cooking times as necessary. If this is the first time you use my method, be sure to closely monitor the process and check often.

Yield 6 slices bacon, 3 serving(s)
Number Of Ingredients 2
Steps:
- Note: I DO NOT recommend a paper plate due to danger of fire.
- On a microwave-safe dish (such as a Corelle dinner plate/or 8 x 10-inch Pyrex glass baking dish), lay down 2 sheets (double layer) white paper towels. Place 6 thick slices bacon on the paper towels (not overlapping each other). Cover the bacon slices with 1 sheet of white paper towel.
- Microwave on high for 5 to 6* minutes.
- Rotate dish and microwave on high for about 5 to 6* minutes more (*note: microwave ovens vary, so cooking times may vary; time is for my microwave), or until done to your liking (I like mine crisp). Be careful not to burn the bacon.
- Remove from microwave. Your bacon is ready!
- NOTE: You can use regular slice bacon as well, just reduce cooking time by a minute or two.
Tips:
- Choose the right bacon. Thicker bacon will cook more evenly and is less likely to burn.
- Use a microwave-safe plate. Make sure the plate is large enough to accommodate the bacon in a single layer.
- Cook the bacon in short intervals. Start with 30 seconds and then check the bacon. Continue cooking in 15-second intervals until the bacon is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Drain the bacon on paper towels. This will help to remove excess grease.
- Serve the bacon immediately. Bacon is best when served hot and crispy.
Conclusion:
Cooking bacon in the microwave or frypan is a quick and easy way to enjoy this delicious breakfast staple. By following these tips, you can cook bacon perfectly every time. Whether you prefer your bacon crispy or chewy, there is a method in this article that will suit your taste. So next time you're craving bacon, give one of these methods a try. You won't be disappointed!
