Tips:
- Mise en place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will make the process much smoother and faster.
- Use high-quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your pinwheels will taste. Use real butter, fresh milk, and high-quality flour.
- Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make it tough. Mix it just until it comes together, then stop.
- Chill the dough before rolling it out: Chilling the dough will make it easier to roll out and will also help to prevent it from sticking to your work surface.
- Roll the dough out evenly: Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to an even thickness. This will help to ensure that the pinwheels cook evenly.
- Spread the filling evenly: Use a spoon or knife to spread the filling evenly over the dough. Don't spread it too thickly, or the pinwheels will be difficult to roll up.
- Roll the pinwheels up tightly: Roll the pinwheels up tightly, starting from one long edge and rolling towards the other. Make sure to tuck in the sides as you roll.
- Chill the pinwheels before baking: Chilling the pinwheels before baking will help to keep them from spreading too much in the oven.
- Bake the pinwheels until they are golden brown: Bake the pinwheels at the temperature and for the amount of time specified in the recipe. Don't overbake them, or they will become dry and crumbly.
