Time 1h5m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
2 lbs chicken, meaty pieces
8 medium red potatoes, halved
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
salt
pepper
paprika
1 bunch scallion, chopped
1 sweet red pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
2 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons madeira wine or 2 tablespoons white wine

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Mix oil and garlic.
  • Arrange chicken and potatoes in a shallow roasting pan.
  • Brush well with oil and sprinkle with half the rosemary, and salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
  • Bake 25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, turn chicken and potatoes; sprinkle with remaining rosemary and salt, pepper and paprika to taste.
  • Bake 25 minutes longer and check for doneness. Chicken is done if juices run golden or clear when pierced at a heavy joint. Chicken should be crisp and lightly browned.
  • Sprinkle scallions and red pepper over chicken. Bake 5 more minutes.
  • Sprinkle lemon juice and wine over chicken. Place on hot platter and pour any pan juices over it.,.

Time 3h45m

Yield 1 loaf

Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4 cup water
1/2 cup shredded carrot
1/3 cup shredded zucchini
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1/4 cup sweet red pepper, finely chopped
1 tablespoon margarine or 1 tablespoon butter
3 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed or 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme, snipped
1 teaspoon yeast

Steps:

  • Add the ingredients to bread machine according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Select basic white cycle and crust setting.
  • NOTE: Dough may appear stiff at first until the vegetables have released some of their liquid during the kneading cycle.
  • Watch closely; it may be necessary to add 1 to 3 tablespoons additional flour.
  • If you prefer, you can use the dough setting on your machine and bake in a conventional oven at 350 degrees F until golden brown.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh fruits and vegetables will give your confetti hearts the best flavor and texture.
  • Don't over-mix the batter: Over-mixing the batter will make the confetti hearts tough.
  • Bake the confetti hearts at a moderate temperature: A moderate temperature will help the confetti hearts bake evenly without burning.
  • Let the confetti hearts cool completely before frosting them: This will help the frosting set properly.
  • Be creative with your decorations: You can use any type of sprinkles, candies, or other decorations to make your confetti hearts festive.

Conclusion:

Confetti hearts are a fun and easy treat to make for any occasion. They're perfect for Valentine's Day, birthdays, or any other time you want to show someone special how much you care. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create delicious and festive confetti hearts that everyone will love.
