COLORADO PECAN PIE

Yield 1 pie

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 C. sugar
1 C. dark corn syrup
3 Tbsp.butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1 C. pecans
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 pie shell
1 pint heavy cream

Steps:

  • Bring 1/2 C. sugar + corn syrup to a boil, stirring occasionally--stir in butter. Meanwhile, in a medium size mixing bowl, beat eggs just until yolks & whites are combined. Slowly pour hot mixture over beaten eggs, stirring vigorously. Stir in salt vanilla and pecans. Mix the flour + 1 Tbsp. sugar & sprinkle over bottom of unbaked pastry shell. Pour filling in and bake 350 degrees (glass) or 375 degrees (metal) for 45 min. Cool pie. Whip cream with 2 Tbsp (or more) powdered sugar and serve on or with pie.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality pecans. Fresh, plump pecans will give your pie the best flavor. Avoid using pecans that are old or have been sitting in the pantry for a long time.
  • Toast the pecans before using them. Toasting the pecans will bring out their flavor and make them more香脆. To toast the pecans, spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-7 minutes, or until they are fragrant and lightly browned.
  • Use a good quality pie crust. A good pie crust will make your pie taste even better. You can use a store-bought pie crust or make your own from scratch. If you are making your own pie crust, be sure to use cold butter and ice water. This will help to make the crust flaky and tender.
  • Don't overfill the pie crust. If you overfill the pie crust, the filling will spill out when you bake it. Be sure to leave at least 1 inch of space between the filling and the edge of the pie crust.
  • Bake the pie until the filling is set. The pie is done baking when the filling is set and no longer jiggles. To check if the pie is done, insert a toothpick into the center of the filling. If the toothpick comes out clean, the pie is done.

Conclusion:

Colorado pecan pie is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its rich, buttery filling and 香脆的 pecan topping, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special dessert to make, be sure to give Colorado pecan pie a try.
