KITTENCAL'S FAMOUS COLESLAW
This is the most delicious coleslaw that you will ever have! I make this for weddings, large socials and in the summer for BBQ's and parties, and there is never anything left it all goes and everyone wants the recipe --- plan ahead the coleslaw needs to be refrigerated for the stated time to blend the flavors, this coleslaw will intensify in flavor with chilling time --- this is not a thick heavy dressing like some other coleslaw recipes it's the perfect texture and flavor and what makes this coleslaw stand out from all others is the fresh lemon juice so please use only fresh I have used bottled in the past and it is just not the same --- the dressing amount will yield enough for two 16-ounce packages prepared coleslaw mix or 1 head of green cabbage --- for one 16-ounce package prepared coleslaw mix use the dressing amounts posted on bottom of recipe and add in 3 or more large of chopped green onions. NANA'S SOUTHERN COLESLAW
Just an old family recipe that I have been told is reminiscent of KFC coleslaw. You be the judge! To speed things up I sometimes just buy an already shredded bag of cabbage with carrots in it and then just chop it a little finer.

Tips:
- Start with a sharp knife and a clean cutting board: This will help you get clean, even slices of cabbage and carrots.
- Use a variety of cabbages: Green cabbage is the most common, but you can also use red cabbage, savoy cabbage, or bok choy for a more colorful and flavorful slaw.
- Shred the cabbage and carrots finely: This will help the dressing to adhere to the vegetables and make the slaw more flavorful.
- Use a light hand with the mayonnaise: Too much mayonnaise can make the slaw heavy and greasy. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
- Season the slaw to taste: Add salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. You can also add other seasonings, such as celery seeds, caraway seeds, or dill weed.
- Chill the slaw before serving: This will help the flavors to meld and make the slaw more refreshing.
- Serve the slaw as a side dish or on top of tacos, sandwiches, or burgers.
Conclusion:
This award-winning coleslaw recipe is a classic for a reason. It's simple to make, delicious, and versatile. With a few simple tips, you can make the best coleslaw you've ever tasted.
