COFFEE RUBBED STEAK
Steps:
- Combine all spices in a bowl. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Preheat a cast iron pan over high heat. Brush each side of the steak with oil and then season each side liberally with salt and pepper. Rub 2 tablespoons of the coffee rub onto 1 side of each steak. Cook the steak, rub side down until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes. Flip the steak over, cook for 2 minutes and then transfer to a baking sheet and cook in the oven to medium-rare doneness, about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
Tips:
- Choose a high-quality steak for the best results. Look for a steak that is well-marbled and at least 1 inch thick.
- Make sure to grind the coffee beans finely before using them in the rub.
- Apply the rub to the steak at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will give the flavors time to penetrate the meat.
- Cook the steak over medium-high heat until it reaches the desired doneness. For a medium-rare steak, cook for about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
Conclusion:
Coffee-rubbed steak is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. The coffee rub gives the steak a unique and flavorful crust, while the inside remains tender and juicy. This dish is sure to impress your friends and family.
