1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 large eggs
1/2 cup 2% milk
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 can (8-1/4 ounces) cream-style corn
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Optional: Sour cream and salsa

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles; drain. Stir in cornstarch, onion, chili powder and garlic powder. Stir in tomato sauce. Cook and stir 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat., In a large bowl, whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk and oil until blended; stir in corn. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Stir in cheese., Spread half the batter into a greased 2-qt. baking dish. 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 large carrot, peeled and chopped
1 large red bell pepper, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder

1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup frozen corn
2 cups vegetable broth
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 ½ cups milk
1 large egg
1 ½ cups yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 small onion, minced
1 pound ground beef
1 (15 ounce) can dark red kidney beans
1 (12 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup frozen corn
1 (1.25 ounce) package mild chili seasoning mix
1 teaspoon seasoned salt (such as LAWRY'S®)
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 (7.5 ounce) package cornbread mix (such as Jiffy®)
⅓ cup milk
1 egg
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

4 ears corn, kernels cut off

6 scallions, chopped
3 to 4 cups leftover Slow-Cooker Texas Chili, recipe follows
1 1/2 cups shredded pepper jack or Monterey jack cheese (about 6 ounces)
1 (18-ounce) tube precooked polenta, cut into 12 rounds
2 1/2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 2-inch cubes
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
Kosher salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
5 cloves garlic, smashed
Two (4.5-ounce) cans chopped green chiles, drained
1 tablespoon ground cumin
3/4 cup chili powder
1 14 -ounce can diced tomatoes with chiles
1 to 2 tablespoons green hot sauce
Sliced scallions, fresh cilantro and/or sour cream, for topping
Tortilla chips, for serving (optional)

Steps:

1 package cornbread mix (we like Jiffy cornbread mix, 8.5 ounces)
1 can creamed corn ((15 ounces))

Steps:

  • In a 9x13" casserole dish, mix together the 3 cans of chili, diced tomatoes, kidney beans and cannellini beans. Spread evenly along the bottom of the dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the chili mixture.

Three 8-ounce boxes cornbread muffin mix (Jiffy preferred)
1 1/2 cups whole milk
