1 beef roast (use the size roast and the amount of vegetables you need to feed your family. I used a 2.5 pound Chuck Roast)
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 (12 oz) can Coke or Pepsi (NOT diet!)
Red potatoes, halved
Carrots, cut in chunks

Steps:

  • Place beef in crock pot (slow cooker) and top with dry onion soup mix.
  • Place vegetables around roast.
  • Mix together the cream of mushroom soup and the Coca-Cola in a bowl and pour over roast.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast, rump roast, or brisket are all good choices for pot roast. These cuts are tough but become tender when cooked slowly.
  • Brown the beef before cooking: Browning the beef adds flavor and color to the pot roast. You can do this in a skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes per side.
  • Use a good quality Coca-Cola: Not all Coca-Colas are created equal. For the best flavor, use a classic Coca-Cola, not a diet or zero-calorie version.
  • Add other vegetables to the pot roast: Carrots, potatoes, onions, and celery are all classic pot roast vegetables. You can also add other vegetables that you like, such as parsnips, turnips, or rutabagas.
  • Cook the pot roast on low heat: Pot roast should be cooked on low heat for 8-10 hours. This allows the meat to become tender and fall apart.
  • Let the pot roast rest before serving: Once the pot roast is cooked, let it rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Conclusion:

Coca-Cola pot roast is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a family dinner. The Coca-Cola adds a unique flavor to the pot roast, and the meat is always tender and fall-apart. If you are looking for a new pot roast recipe to try, this one is definitely worth a shot.
