Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will make a big difference in the flavor of your cashew beef. Look for tender cuts of beef, such as flank steak or sirloin, and fresh, crunchy cashews.
  • Marinate the beef: Marinating the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, cornstarch, and Chinese rice wine will help to tenderize it and give it more flavor.
  • Cook the beef in a hot wok: A hot wok will help to sear the beef and prevent it from becoming tough. Make sure to preheat your wok over high heat before adding the beef.
  • Add the vegetables last: The vegetables should be added to the wok towards the end of the cooking process, so that they remain crisp and tender.
  • Use a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce: A cornstarch slurry is a mixture of cornstarch and water that is used to thicken sauces. Adding a cornstarch slurry to the cashew beef sauce will help to give it a rich, velvety texture.
