Time 10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

200 ml fresh lime juice (about 7 limes)
100 ml fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
160 g palm sugar, finely chopped
1 1/2 liters soda water, chilled (club soda)
2 limes, quartered to serve
ice cube, to serve

Steps:

  • Combine lime and lemon juice in a large jug.
  • Add sugar and stir until dissolved, place in fridge for 10 minutes to chill.
  • Add soda water and lime wedges.
  • Place ice in serving glasses, pour citrus soda over and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the right citrus fruits: For a well-balanced soda, use a mix of sweet and tart citrus fruits. Some good options include oranges, grapefruits, lemons, and limes.
  • Use fresh citrus juice: Freshly squeezed citrus juice will give your soda the best flavor. Avoid using bottled or store-bought juice, as it often contains preservatives and additives that can alter the taste.
  • Add some sweetness: To balance out the tartness of the citrus fruits, you can add some sweetness to your soda. Sugar, honey, or agave nectar are all good options.
  • Carbonate your soda: To give your soda its signature fizzy texture, you need to carbonate it. You can do this using a soda maker, or by adding carbonated water to your citrus mixture.
  • Chill your soda before serving: For the best flavor, chill your soda before serving. This will help to enhance the citrus flavors and make it more refreshing.

Conclusion:

Citrus soda is a delicious and refreshing beverage that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a good source of vitamin C and other nutrients, and it can also help to boost your immune system. With a little creativity, you can easily make your own citrus soda at home using fresh citrus fruits, sweetener, and carbonated water. So next time you're looking for a thirst-quenching drink, give citrus soda a try!
