Steps:
- Toss the green beans into a large pot of boiling salted water and cook until bright green in color and crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain the beans and shock in a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Drain the beans again and pat dry.
- Cook the bacon in a large, heavy saute pan until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Spoon off the excess bacon grease, leaving 2 tablespoons in the pan. Add the onion to the pan and saute until soft and very tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle in the garlic and red pepper flakes and saute until just fragrant, about 1 more minute. Add the reserved green beans and the pecans and cook until heated through, 5 to 6 minutes more. Return the bacon to the pan, pour in the lemon juice and toss. Season with salt and pepper.

Tips:
- Use fresh green beans: Fresh green beans have a crisp texture and bright flavor that is perfect for this dish.
- Choose thick-cut bacon: Thick-cut bacon will provide more flavor and a better texture than thin-cut bacon.
- Cook the bacon until it is crispy: Crispy bacon will add a nice contrast to the tender green beans.
- Use a variety of citrus fruits: Different citrus fruits will provide different flavors to the dish. Try using a combination of oranges, lemons, and limes.
- Add some herbs: Herbs like thyme, rosemary, or sage will add a nice depth of flavor to the dish.
- Serve immediately: This dish is best served immediately after it is cooked. The green beans will start to lose their crispness if they are allowed to sit for too long.
Conclusion:
Citrus bacon green beans are a quick and easy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of citrus fruits, bacon, and green beans is a delicious and flavorful combination that is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a simple but tasty side dish, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
