CINNAMON SOUFFLE

This is such a simple recipe and so delicious. I have been going through a lot of my cookbooks looking for recipes with cinnamon. I have diabetes and cinnamon helps lower your blood sugars. This recipe is a keeper for anyone though. It's especially good served warm with vanilla icecream..

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 loaf o cinnamon, raisin bread
1 can(s) (20oz) can crushed pineapple
2 stick butter, melted
1/2 c sugar
5 large eggs slightly beaten
1/2 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Thinly slice crust off of the bread and tear bread into small pieces. Layer in a sprayed 9x13" glass baking dish. Pour pineapple and juice over top of bread. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and pecans and blend well. Pour creamed mixture over bread and pineapples and bake for 40 minutes Serve warm with or without icecream

Tips:

  • To achieve a light and fluffy soufflé, ensure that the egg whites are beaten until stiff peaks form. This will incorporate air into the mixture, allowing it to rise during baking.
  • For a smooth and silky texture, strain the custard mixture before pouring it into the ramekins. This will remove any lumps or impurities.
  • To prevent the soufflé from curdling, temper the egg yolks by slowly whisking in a small amount of the hot milk mixture before adding the rest. This will gradually raise the temperature of the egg yolks, preventing them from cooking too quickly.
  • For a golden brown crust, sprinkle some granulated sugar on top of the soufflés before baking. This will caramelize during baking, creating a delicious and visually appealing crust.
  • Serve the soufflés immediately after baking, as they will start to deflate as they cool.

Conclusion:

The Cinnamon Soufflé is an elegant and delicious dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its light and fluffy texture, smooth and silky custard, and golden brown crust, it is sure to impress your guests. Follow these tips and tricks to ensure your soufflé turns out perfect every time. Experiment with different flavor variations, such as chocolate, vanilla, or fruit, to create your own unique soufflé recipes.
