CINNAMON-SUGAR POPCORN
I first tried this when I was visiting my sister in West Virginia. After trying it, I loved it, however I neglected to ask her for the recipe. 10 years later, I have it, and I still love it! The kids can help make it if you use an air popper (which I did to reduce fat and calories...there's enough in the butter!) I used my deep dish lasagna pan to cook it in the oven. You can use a roasting pan or any other large, deep dish pan. It makes a lot, so either invite your friends or store it in an airtight container for later.

Steps:
- In a small bowl, mix butter and cinnamon together. Set aside. In a separate small bowl, mix powdered sugar with half & half until smooth. You may have to stir in a little more half & half to get it to drizzling consistency. Set aside. Place oil and popcorn kernels into a large pot. Cover with tight fitting lid or foil. Place pot over high heat. Shake pot back and forth over hot burner to heat kernels evenly. Continue shaking the pot until the popcorn starts to pop. After a minute or two, the popping will slow right down and you'll have a pot full of popcorn. Dump the hot popcorn onto a baking sheet and drizzle with cinnamon butter immediately. Stir to coat. Drizzle the icing over the top and toss to coat as well. Serve warm, or let it cool so the icing can harden up a bit. Recipe notes: It's important to keep the pot moving the entire time it's on the heat - this ensures the kernels don't burn

Tips:
- Use fresh popcorn kernels. Stale kernels will not pop as well and will result in a less flavorful popcorn.
- Use a large pot or Dutch oven. You need a pot that is large enough to allow the popcorn to expand without overflowing.
- Do not overcrowd the pot. Only add enough kernels to cover the bottom of the pot in a single layer.
- Heat the oil over medium heat. Do not let the oil get too hot, or the popcorn will burn.
- Add the popcorn kernels and sugar to the pot. Stir to coat the kernels in the oil and sugar.
- Cover the pot and shake it constantly. This will help to distribute the heat evenly and prevent the popcorn from burning.
- Listen for the popping to slow down. When the popping slows to a few seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat.
- Pour the popcorn into a large bowl. Add the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss to coat.
- Serve the popcorn immediately. Cinnamon popcorn is best enjoyed fresh.
Conclusion:
Cinnamon popcorn is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and flavorful treat that everyone will love. Whether you are looking for a quick snack or a festive treat for a party, cinnamon popcorn is a great option. So next time you are craving something sweet and crunchy, give cinnamon popcorn a try.
