Categories     Dessert

Time 1h

Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 crust from 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons grated orange peel
2/3 to 1 cup fresh orange juice

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease cookie sheet with shortening or spray with cooking spray.
  • In small bowl, beat Filling ingredients until smooth. Set aside.
  • Unroll pie crust onto floured work surface. Roll out crust with rolling pin; cut into 4-inch squares. Place about 2 tablespoons filling in center of each pie crust square. Fold crust over filling to form triangle; press edges with fork to seal. Place on cookie sheet.
  • In small shallow dish, beat egg white and water. In another small shallow dish, mix 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Brush crust triangles with Egg Wash; roll in Cinnamon-Sugar Coating. (The sugar coating is to taste, but ideally a quesito has a nice sugary crust that crunches when one takes a bite.) Return to cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, combine Orange Glaze ingredients. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.
  • Remove quesitos from oven. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Brush moderate amount of glaze over each quesito. Cool 10 minutes before serving.

Categories     Other Snacks

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 flour tortilla
left over from (cream cheese from cinamon cream cheese sopapillas)
oil as needed
confectioners sugar to sprinkle on top.
HERE ARE INGREDIENTS FOR CINAMON CREAM CHEESE
1 8oz philadelphia cream cheese pacage
1/2 c confectioners' sugar
1 tsp cinamon, whatever your taste is
1 can(s) refrigerated crescent rolls

Steps:

  • 1. add confectioner's sugar, and cinamon to softened cream cheese. Use mixer to cream them all together.
  • 2. spread the cinamon cream chees on flour tortilla roll like a burrito making sure ends are not open, fry until golden brown..Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

Tips:

  • Use bread flour: Bread flour has a higher protein content than all-purpose flour, which makes for a chewier sopaipilla.
  • Chill the dough: Chilling the dough makes it easier to handle and prevents the sopaipillas from becoming too greasy.
  • Fry the sopaipillas in hot oil: The oil should be between 350°F and 375°F to ensure that the sopaipillas cook evenly and don't absorb too much oil.
  • Drain the sopaipillas on paper towels: This will remove any excess oil and help the sopaipillas stay crispy.
  • Serve the sopaipillas warm: Sopaipillas are best enjoyed when they are fresh and warm.

Conclusion:

Cinnamon Cream Cheese Sopaipillas are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that the whole family will love.
