Apple Cinnamon Balls No Bake Cookies image

These were a big hit for christmas. I don't recall how many they made I'm thinking 40. These are moist little morsels of nuts flavored with apple and buttershots liqueur. These are better as they sit in an air tight container.

CINNAMON BALLS

Yield 16 cookies

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2 Cups Ground Almonds
1/2 Cup Superfine Sugar
1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
2 Egg Whites
1/2 Cup Confectioner's Sugar
Large Baking Sheet
Oil (to grease the Baking Sheet)
Preheat Oven to: 350 Degrees Fahrenheit

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the almonds, sugar, and cinnamon together in a medium bowl. 2. Whisk the egg whites in a separate bowl until they begin to stiffen. 3. Fold whisked eggs into the dry mixture until the combination is fairy firm. 4. Use your hands to roll the mixture into pecan-sized balls and place these onto a greased baking sheet. 5. Bake for about 15 minutes at 350°F. 6. Remove from oven and use a metal spatula to separate the balls from the baking sheet before they cool too much. 7. Once the cinnamon balls are completely cooled, sift some confectioner's sugar onto a plate. Gently roll each ball on the plate until it is completely coated in sugar. Add more sugar to the plate as necessary.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients. Fresh cinnamon balls have the best flavor. If you can't find fresh cinnamon balls, you can use dried cinnamon balls, but they won't be as flavorful.
  • Don't overcook the cinnamon balls. Overcooked cinnamon balls will be tough and chewy. Cook them just until they are tender.
  • Serve the cinnamon balls warm. Cinnamon balls are best served warm, when the spices are at their most fragrant. You can serve them with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
  • Experiment with different spices. You can add other spices to the cinnamon balls, such as nutmeg, ginger, or cardamom. Experiment to find the combination of spices that you like best.

Conclusion:

Cinnamon balls are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They're perfect for a snack, a dessert, or a holiday party. With a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of cinnamon balls that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give cinnamon balls a try. You won't be disappointed.
