Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: For the best results, use a firm, tart apple variety such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. These apples will hold their shape when cooked and provide a nice contrast to the sweet filling.
  • Slice the apples thinly: This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • Use a large skillet: This will give the apples plenty of room to cook without overcrowding.
  • Cook the apples over medium heat: This will help them caramelize and develop a rich flavor.
  • Stir the apples frequently: This will prevent them from sticking to the pan and burning.
  • Add the cinnamon and sugar mixture: This will add a sweet and spicy flavor to the apples.
  • Cook the apples until they are tender: This should take about 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve the apples warm: They can be served on their own, or used as a topping for pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal.
