CINNAMON-SUGAR POPCORN

Cinnamon-Sugar Popcorn image

I first tried this when I was visiting my sister in West Virginia. After trying it, I loved it, however I neglected to ask her for the recipe. 10 years later, I have it, and I still love it! The kids can help make it if you use an air popper (which I did to reduce fat and calories...there's enough in the butter!) I used my deep dish lasagna pan to cook it in the oven. You can use a roasting pan or any other large, deep dish pan. It makes a lot, so either invite your friends or store it in an airtight container for later.

MRS. MUELLER'S HONEY POPCORN

Mrs. Mueller's Honey Popcorn image

One of my dearest friends shared her mother's recipe with me for this tasty, lightly honey flavored popcorn. It is very easy and makes for a nice snack, especially enjoyed by children. Please only use freshly popped unseasoned popcorn - this really doesn't work well with the preseasoned microwave popcorn. Prep time assumes you have started with already popped popcorn.

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

HEALTHY POPCORN TREAT

Healthy Popcorn Treat image

I wanted to make a sweet popcorn that was delicious but not loaded with sugar, so I came up with this recipe. It's one of my kids' favorites! Olive oil works if you don't have coconut oil. If you accidentally add to much salt, add a little more honey. If it's too sweet, add a little more salt. Start with a little cinnamon and gradually add more until it is the flavor you desire.

Time 20m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 tablespoons coconut oil
¾ cup popcorn kernels
2 tablespoons honey, or more to taste
salt to taste
1 pinch ground cinnamon, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Heat coconut oil in a large pot over high heat. Drop 3 popcorn kernels into the hot oil and place a lid on the pot; cook until 1 kernel has popped. Remove the lid and pour in the remaining popcorn. Return the lid to the pot and cook popcorn, shaking pot back and forth over burner, until there are 1 to 2 seconds between pops, about 5 minutes.
  • Quickly transfer popcorn to a large bowl; evenly drizzle honey over popcorn. Add salt and cinnamon; toss popcorn with your hands to coat evenly.

Tips:

  • Use fresh popcorn kernels. This will ensure that your popcorn is fluffy and flavorful.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot. If you add too many kernels to the pot, they won't pop evenly and you'll end up with a lot of unpopped kernels.
  • Keep the pot covered. This will help the popcorn pop evenly and prevent it from burning.
  • Shake the pot occasionally. This will help to distribute the heat evenly and prevent the popcorn from burning.
  • Remove the popcorn from the heat as soon as it's done popping. This will prevent it from burning.
  • Add the cinnamon and honey mixture while the popcorn is still hot. This will help the mixture to adhere to the popcorn.
  • Serve the popcorn immediately. This is when it's at its best!

Conclusion:

Cinnamon and honey popcorn is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that's perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up leftover popcorn, and it's also a fun and festive treat for parties and gatherings. So next time you're looking for a sweet and satisfying snack, give cinnamon and honey popcorn a try. You won't be disappointed!
