Time 43m

Yield 40 cookies

Number Of Ingredients 13

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup blanched almond, ground
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Cookies:.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add the sugar, baking soda, cream of tarter, and cinnamon. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in ground almonds. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls, or scoop dough with a 1-inch cookie scoop. Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 13 minutes or until cookies are light brown. Transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool.
  • Drizzle cookies with Browned Butter Drizzle.
  • DRIZZLE:.
  • In a small saucepan, heat butter over medium heat until butter turns the color of light brown sugar, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat. Slowly stir in powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to make of drizzling consistency.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ingredients: Use high-quality butter, sugar, flour, and eggs. Freshly ground cinnamon and almond extract will give your cookies the best flavor.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together properly: This step is essential for creating light and fluffy cookies. Cream the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy, and then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix the dough just until it comes together, and then stop.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Use a cookie scoop: A cookie scoop will help you to create uniform cookies that bake evenly.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown around the edges: The cookies should be set in the center, but they should still be slightly soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before serving: This will help the cookies to firm up and prevent them from breaking.

Conclusion:

These cinnamon almond cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are soft and chewy, with a sweet and nutty flavor. With a few simple tips, you can make these cookies perfect every time.
