1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Dijon Mustard
2 C Cider Vinegar
1 T Olive Oil
1 lb cooked Ham Steak, 1/2" thick
1 tsp grated Ginger
2 T butter
1/4 C Raisins
1 T Minced flat leaf Parsley

  • 1. Finely chop onion 2. In cup, stir cider, vinegar, mustard seed, mustard. 3. In large Skillet, medium hot, heat oil until hot. Saute ham in oil, 4 minutes until golden. Set aside on covered platter 4. In remaining oil. cook onions over medium heat until golden, about 5 minutes 6. 1 small onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 c apple cider, filtered
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 lb ham steak, bone in, fully cooked
1 tsp ginger root, grated
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 c raisins
1 Tbsp italian parsley, minced

Steps:

  • 1. In a measuring cup, stir together cider, vinegar, mustard seeds, mustard.
  • 2. In a large heavy skillet heat oil over moderately high heat until hot but no t smoking and saute ham until golden and heated through, about 4 minutes on each side. Transfer ham to a platter and keep warm, covered.
  • 3. In fat remaining in skillet cook onion over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until golden, about 5 minutes. Add ginger and cook, stirring, 1 minute. Stir cider mixture and add to skillet. Boil sauce, stirring occasionally, until reduced to about 2/3 cup, about 5 minutes. Cut butter into 1/2" pieces. Add raisins to sauce and whisk in butter and parsley until butter is incorporated.
  • 4. Pour sauce over ham.
