CHURRISIMOS

From Simply Delicioso with Ingrid Hoffmann on foodtv.com. These are a Mexican sweet that I have had a fairs and carnivals. I was thrilled to see it on TV and how easy they were to make using puff pastry. A healthier version because they are baked, not fried like the fair food.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the churrisimos will turn out. Look for fresh, organic ingredients whenever possible.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing will make the churrisimos tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a piping bag or star tip: This will help you create evenly shaped churrisimos.
  • Fry the churrisimos in hot oil: The oil should be at a temperature of 350°F (175°C). This will help the churrisimos cook evenly and prevent them from sticking together.
