Christmas Cosmopolitan by the Pitcher image

I can't recommend this Cosmopolitan enough, not only for it's crisp taste, but it's so beautiful. Double and serve in a punch bowl for the holiday season with an ice ring embedded with cranberries. Thanks to my sister-in-law turning me onto this beautiful drink from Victoria Classics Holiday Bliss. (Note: The original recipe calls for gin but can sub vodka.)

COSMOPOLITAN SPRITZ

Cosmopolitan Spritz image

An especially refreshing take on the classic Cosmopolitan recipe-a Cosmo that's fizzy, festive, and easy to sip.

Provided by The Epicurious Test Kitchen

Yield Makes 12

Number Of Ingredients 8

18 oz. vodka
9 oz. Cointreau
6 oz. fresh lime juice (about 7 limes)
6 oz. naturally sweetened cranberry juice (such as Ocean Spray 100% Juice)
24 oz. chilled club soda
24 oz. chilled cava or other sparkling white wine (about one 750-ml bottle)
12 dashes of orange bitters
12 sprigs rosemary

Steps:

  • Stir vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, and cranberry juice in a pitcher to combine. Do ahead: Cosmo mix can be made 10 hours ahead. Cover and chill.
  • To make 1 cocktail, fill a Collins glass two thirds full with ice. Pour in 2 oz. club soda and 2 oz. cava, then 3ΒΌ oz. Cosmo mix. Add a dash of bitters and gently stir once. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. This is especially important for the cranberries and oranges, as they will provide the most vibrant flavor.
  • Make sure to chill the cranberry juice and vodka before using them. This will help to ensure that the cocktail is served cold and refreshing.
  • If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can use a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Just be sure to shake the jar vigorously for at least 10 seconds.
  • Garnish the cocktail with a festive twist of orange peel or a sprig of rosemary for a special touch.

Conclusion:

The Christmas Cosmopolitan is a delicious and festive cocktail that is perfect for any holiday party. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed by everyone. So next time you are looking for a festive drink to serve, give the Christmas Cosmopolitan a try. Your guests will love it!
