CHOCOLATE RICE KRISPIES BALLS RECIPE - (3.9/5)

Chocolate Rice Krispies Balls Recipe - (3.9/5) image

Provided by OralW

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup peanut butter
3 tablespoons soft butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Rice Krispies
1/2 cup pecans, chopped fine
1 cup coconut, shredded (I used unsweetened)
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 square sweet chocolate

Steps:

  • Mix everything together, refrigerate for a half hour or longer and then form into balls. Return to fridge and let chill at least an hour (longer would be best). Note: To make it easier to roll in chocolate, freeze for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight. Melt the following together in a double -boiler: one package chocolate chips, one square sweet chocolate. Keep on low so that chocolate remains soft. Drop balls into chocolate mixture one at a time using a fork to roll them so that the chocolate will cover. Let set on parchment paper in fridge. They freeze well. Note: The balls can also refrigerated over night or may be frozen, and then dipped in chocolate.

Tips:

  • Use fresh Rice Krispies cereal. Stale cereal will not hold together as well and will make your balls more crumbly.
  • Melt the butter and marshmallows over low heat. This will help to prevent the mixture from burning.
  • Stir the Rice Krispies cereal into the melted mixture until it is evenly coated. Be careful not to overmix, or the cereal will become too mushy.
  • Roll the mixture into balls while it is still warm. If the mixture cools too much, it will become difficult to work with.
  • Chill the balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will help them to set and firm up.
  • Get creative with your toppings! You can drizzle the balls with melted chocolate, sprinkle them with sprinkles, or roll them in chopped nuts.

Conclusion:

Chocolate Rice Krispies balls are a fun and easy treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or simply as a sweet snack. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create delicious and festive treats that will be sure to impress your friends and family. So what are you waiting for?
