Categories     Pie     Pecan     Bake     Dessert

Yield Makes 1 9-inch pie

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup Karo light or dark corn syrup
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Spice Islands Pure Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 cups pecans
1 (9-inch) unbaked or frozen deep-dish pie crust

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla using a spoon. Stir in pecans. Pour filling into pie crust.
  • Bake on center rack of oven until center reaches 200°F and springs back when tapped lightly, about 55 to 70 minutes.
  • This recipe is made available as a courtesy by Karo, a registered trademark of ACH Food Companies, Inc.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. The better the chocolate, the better the pie will taste. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 60%.
  • Toast the pecans. Toasting the pecans will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant.
  • Don't overcook the pie. The pie is done when the center is just set. If you overcook it, the filling will be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will allow the filling to set properly and the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve the pie with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream. This will add a delicious finishing touch.

Conclusion:

Chocolate pecan pie is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's rich, decadent, and sure to please everyone. With these tips, you can make the best chocolate pecan pie ever. So what are you waiting for? Preheat your oven and get started!
