Provided by Karen..

Categories     Bar Cookie

Time 40m

Yield 12 serving(s)

2 ounces baking chocolate (2 squares)
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar

1/2 cup sifted cake flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Add flour and mix well.
  • Spread into 8 inch square pan.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes.
  • Cut into squares when cool.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality dark chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 60% for a rich and intense flavor.
  • Use unsalted butter to control the saltiness of the chews and prevent them from becoming too salty.
  • Toast the nuts in a preheated oven or on the stovetop to enhance their flavor and aroma.
  • Don't overmix the batter, as this can result in tough and chewy chews.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before shaping and baking to make it easier to handle.
  • Bake the chews until they are just set in the center, as overbaking can dry them out.
