Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The quality of the chocolate you use will greatly impact the flavor of your maple bars. Look for a chocolate that is at least 60% cacao.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the maple bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the maple bars until they are just set: Overbaking the maple bars will make them dry. Bake them until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Make the maple glaze while the maple bars are baking: This will give the glaze time to cool slightly before you pour it over the maple bars.
  • Let the maple bars cool completely before glazing them: This will help the glaze set properly.
