Time 1h30m

Yield 24

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry (such as Pepperidge Farm®), thawed
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup low-fat milk
½ (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar for dusting, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Unfold both sheets of puff pastry and lay onto a lightly floured work surface. Cut each sheet into 3 strips along the fold marks, then cut each strip into 4 squares to make 12 pastry squares per sheet. Place squares onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the puff pastry is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Let squares cool completely.
  • Whisk pudding mix and milk in a bowl until thick and smooth, about 1 minute; let stand about 3 minutes to finish thickening. Gently fold whipped topping into pudding. Transfer chocolate mousse mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a medium tip.
  • Use a finger or a butter knife to gently open a corner of a pastry square. Make a small pocket in the pastry with the knife. Pipe about 1 tablespoon of chocolate mousse into the opening; a small amount of mousse will appear at the opening site when the pastry pocket is full. Repeat with remaining pastry squares and mousse mixture. Dust pastries lightly with confectioners' sugar.

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 3

3- 1/2 pt whipping cream
1 can(s) hershy's syrup
1 can(s) eagle brand milk

Steps:

  • 1. Use mixer and mix all 3 ingredients in a large bowl. Use a glass or plastic bowl, do not use metal. Freeze for 2 hours. Take out of freezer and beat clouds for 10 minutes. It should double in size and becomes light in color. Refreeze 4-6 hours.
  • 2. This will taste like frozen chocolate mouse. If you can't find the Hershy's syrup can, you can use 1/2 a bottle of Hershy's syrup used for ice cream topping.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality chocolate: The better the chocolate, the better the clouds will be. Look for a chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Use fresh eggs: Old eggs can make the clouds tough and rubbery.
  • Don't overbeat the egg whites: Overbeaten egg whites will make the clouds too tough. Beat them until they are stiff peaks but not dry.
  • Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture gently: Overmixing will deflate the egg whites and make the clouds dense.
  • Bake the clouds at a low temperature: This will help them to rise slowly and evenly.
  • Let the clouds cool completely before serving: This will help them to set and become firm.

Conclusion:

Chocolate clouds are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that are perfect for any occasion. They are light and fluffy, with a rich chocolate flavor. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect chocolate clouds every time. So next time you are looking for a special dessert, give chocolate clouds a try. You won't be disappointed!
