Number Of Ingredients 12

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups milk chocolate chips
14 Kraft caramels
3 tablespoons heavy cream or half and half
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl; set aside. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Microwave caramels and cream in a small bowl, stirring occasionally, until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Drizzle caramel over cookies and sprinkle with chopped pecans.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate chips. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your cookies.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies keep their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving. This will allow the flavors to develop and the cookies to firm up.

Conclusion:

Chocolate chip turtle cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With their chewy texture, rich chocolate flavor, and gooey caramel filling, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
