Tips:

  • Prep the dates properly: Before using, remove the pits from the dates. If they are dry, soak them in hot water for 5 minutes to soften them, then drain well.
  • Use room temperature ingredients: This will help the batter mix more evenly and prevent curdling.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Don't overbake the cake: The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the cake cool completely before serving: This will allow the flavors to develop and the cake to set properly.

Conclusion:

This chocolate chip date coffee cake is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With its moist, flavorful crumb and sweet, gooey chocolate chips, it is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
