1 jar (10 oz) maraschino cherries
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
Reserved cherry juice

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325°F. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. Drain maraschino cherries, reserving juice for drizzle; set juice aside. Finely chop cherries; pat dry with paper towel.
  • In large bowl, beat 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 cup butter with electric mixer on medium speed until well mixed. Beat in vanilla and eggs. On low speed, beat in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips and the cherries. Spread in pan.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Immediately sprinkle with 1 cup chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes or until chocolate in softened. Spread chocolate evenly over crust.

3/4 c butter flavor crisco
2 large eggs
1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
1 1/2 c large milk chocolate chips
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 with butter flavored crisco. Combine butter flavor crisco, eggs, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and almond extract in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Combine flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Mix into creamed mixture at low speed until just blended. Stir in pie filling and chocolate chips with spoon. Spread in pan. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar after cooled completely.
