1 Cup 2 Sticks Butter, Softened
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
2 Teaspoons Maraschino Cherry Liquid
Red Food Coloring (I used Gel)
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
10 Oz. Jar Maraschino Cherries
3 Tablespoons White Sugar
36 Hershey's Kisses (Unwrapped)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Drain cherries of their liquid, but be sure to reserve ~2 Teaspoons of their juice.
  • Cream butter using a mixer or wooden spoon. Gradually stir in powdered sugar a little at a time.
  • Stir in cherry juice, red food coloring, and vanilla
  • Gradually stir in flour a little at a time. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in cherries.
  • Shape dough into ~1 inch balls. Roll in white sugar. Gently flatten using a small juice glass.
  • Bake 12-15 minutes ,or until the sides are just beginning to brown. Remove from oven and immediately press a kiss into the middle of each cookie.

60 maraschino cherries with stems
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons corn syrup
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 pound chocolate confectioners' coating

Steps:

  • Drain cherries and set on paper towels to dry.
  • In a medium bowl, combine butter and corn syrup until smooth. Stir in confectioners' sugar and knead to form a dough. Chill to stiffen if necessary. Wrap each cherry in about 1 teaspoon of dough. Chill until firm.

1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
2 teaspoons maraschino cherry juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3 -4 drops red food coloring
2 1/4-2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3-1/2 cup maraschino cherry, drained, chopped
48 chocolate stars or 48 Hershey chocolate kisses

Steps:

  • In large bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, cherry liquid, almond extract and food color; blend well.
  • Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  • Add flour and salt; mix well.
  • Stir in cherries.
  • If dough is too dry, add a little more cherry liquid until dough holds together when shaped.

3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup dried cherries, chopped
1/3 cup sugar
1 (11 ounce) bag chocolate-covered cherries, chocolate-kiss shaped decorative candies, unwrapped

Steps:

  • Place unsweetened chocolate in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted. Add butter; stir until butter is melted. Cool 10 minutes.
  • Combine melted chocolate mixture, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 3/4 cups of flour, eggs and baking powder in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
