CHOCOLATE AND KAHLUA PECAN PIE

Categories     Nut     Dessert

Yield 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 -- 9" pie crust, unbaked
Filling
3 eggs
1/4c + 2T corn syrup
1/4c + 2T Kahlua
3/4c granulated sugar
2T butter, melted
1t vanilla
1.5c pecan halves
1/2c or more to taste of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, Kahlua, sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour over unbaked crust. Bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 15 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350 degree and bake 30 minutes longer until center is set. Note: you may need to cover loosely with foil to prevent the crust from browning too much as the pie bakes.

Tips:

  • Use a pre-made pie crust for convenience. If you're short on time or don't have the ingredients to make a homemade crust, a store-bought crust is a perfectly acceptable option.
  • Don't overmix the filling. Overmixing can cause the filling to become tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the pie until the center is set. A toothpick inserted into the center of the pie should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the pie cool completely before slicing and serving. This will give the filling time to set properly.
  • Serve the pie with whipped cream or ice cream. This is a classic pairing that will make your pie even more delicious.
  • To make a chocolate ganache, simply melt equal parts chocolate and heavy cream together until smooth. You can then drizzle the ganache over the pie or use it as a filling.
  • To make a Kahlua whipped cream, simply whip heavy cream with Kahlua and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. You can then pipe the whipped cream onto the pie or use it as a filling.
  • Store the pie in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Chocolate and Kahlua Pecan Pie is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its rich chocolate flavor, creamy Kahlua whipped cream, and crunchy pecans, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give this pie a try. You won't be disappointed.
