1 c chopped pecans
8-oz. pkg pitted dates, cut in small pieces

While still very warm remove spoonfuls from pan. Roll in 1-inch balls. Then roll in powdered sugar. Store covered container in refrig. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.

Tips:

  • Prep your ingredients ahead of time. This will make the cooking process much faster and easier. You can chop vegetables, measure out ingredients, and even preheat your oven before you start cooking.
  • Use a nonstick skillet. This will help prevent the chews from sticking to the pan and will make it easier to flip them.
  • Cook the chews over medium heat. This will help them cook evenly without burning.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you overcrowd the pan, the chews will not cook evenly.
  • Flip the chews frequently. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from burning.
  • Serve the chews immediately. Chinese chews are best served hot and fresh out of the pan.
