Tips:
- For a spicier chili cheese rice bake, add 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the chili mixture. You can also use a hotter variety of chili, such as jalapeño or habanero.
- To make the chili cheese rice bake more creamy, add 1/2 cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt to the chili mixture. You can also add 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the rice mixture before baking.
- If you don't have any cooked rice, you can cook 1 cup of rice according to the package instructions. Once the rice is cooked, spread it in a thin layer on a baking sheet and let it cool completely. This will help the rice to dry out and prevent it from becoming mushy in the chili cheese rice bake.
- To make the chili cheese rice bake ahead of time, assemble the casserole and bake it for 30 minutes. Then, let the casserole cool completely and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When you're ready to serve, reheat the casserole in a preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes, or until it is heated through.
Conclusion:
Chili cheese rice bake is a delicious and easy-to-make casserole that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is made with simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand, and it can be tailored to your own taste preferences.
