- Then stir in onion powder, garlic salt, and salt and pepper.
- Lightly grease a 9 x 9 inch square baking dish. Cover bottom of pan lightly with about 1/4 cup of the sauce. Spread half of the sliced potatoes in the pan. Then spread half of the sliced potatoes in pan. Top with half of the ham and half of the chicken. Pour half of the sauce and then top with about 1/2 cup of cheese. Then repeat layers starting with potatoes, ham, chicken, sauce and 1/2 cup of cheese.
- Bake in 375 oven for 25 to 30 minutes until heated through. Then top with remaining 1 cup of cheese and cook for a few more minutes until cheese is melted.
Tips:
- Choose the right potatoes: Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are best for this recipe as they hold their shape well and have a fluffy texture when mashed.
- Don't overcook the potatoes: Cook the potatoes until they are tender but still slightly firm. Overcooked potatoes will be mushy and not hold their shape.
- Use a good quality Swiss cheese: The type of Swiss cheese you use will greatly affect the flavor of the dish. Look for a Swiss cheese that is flavorful and melts well.
- Don't skimp on the butter: Butter adds richness and flavor to the dish. Don't be afraid to use a generous amount.
- Cook the chicken until it is cooked through: Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Serve the dish immediately: Chicken Cordon Bleu Potatoes is best served immediately after it is made. The potatoes will start to lose their crispiness if they sit for too long.
Conclusion:
Chicken Cordon Bleu Potatoes is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of crispy potatoes, tender chicken, and melted Swiss cheese is sure to please everyone at the table. With a few simple tips, you can make this dish perfectly every time.
