SIMPLY OVEN BAKED PORK CHOPS OR CHICKEN AND RICE II

Simply Oven Baked Pork Chops or Chicken and Rice II image

This is an updated version of DH's bachelor days recipe, that I posted in 2005. When I first met him, the only spices he owned was Tony's, garlic salt and salt and pepper. This is the recipe that has evolved from the original. It's still a basic recipe...just a lot more flavor. As with all my recipes, feel free to change it up to suit your family's tastes. Note: You can season the rice with salt and pepper. We do it at the table.

Time 1h22m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 pork chops
1 cup quick-cooking rice
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup milk

Steps:

  • Mix and flour pork chops, and brown in skillet.
  • Place in 9 X 13 dish, cover with 1 cup quick cooking rice.
  • Mix 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup with 1 cup milk, and pour over the chops and rice, being careful to cover rice with liquid.
  • Cover tightly and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hour. Soup will be absorbed into the chops and rice.

Tips:

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chicken and pork chops are cooked to the proper internal temperature. This will help to prevent foodborne illness and ensure that the meat is juicy and tender.
  • Season the chicken and pork chops generously with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the meat and make it more enjoyable to eat.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking dish. If the chicken and pork chops are too close together, they will not cook evenly. Make sure that there is at least 1 inch of space between each piece of meat.
  • Bake the chicken and pork chops in a preheated oven. This will help to ensure that the meat cooks evenly and thoroughly.
  • Let the chicken and pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

This recipe for Chicken Baked Pork Chops is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The chicken and pork chops are cooked together in a flavorful sauce, resulting in a moist and tender dish that is sure to please everyone at the table.
